February 2023 was the month of the official re-opening of the Greig Hall with a very special opening ceremony and not one but two celebratory concerts. Andrew Matheson, as Chair of the new Greig Hall Charity, and Cllr Kathryn Cargill, as Alcester Mayor, welcomed a huge crowd and in particular Don Blizzard, longstanding custodian of the Hall, who performed the opening ceremony by unveiling a plaque.
The audience was also shown a video compilation of a brief history of the Hall across 65 years, since 1958, drawn from very many photo archives. On the following day, a huge array of local talent was determined to be part of this very special event in the Alcester calendar, and the audience of 500 (overall) warmly welcomed the performances by 150 performers (overall) and the re-emergence of the Greig Hall as the community hub for the town and its surrounds.
